Abstract

Proverbs in English and Uzbek unrelated to the culture and religious were compared. In the following proverbs the rituals and traditions related to the history of these two languages were determined. Moreover, their meanings were highlighted with commentary. The semantic similarity that occurs through words with similarities and differences in unrelated languages was revealed.
